Execution Trader - China Markets (Shanghai)
Our client is a global PFM, seeking an Execution Trader to be based in Shanghai, focusing on China onshore market. The role will support local and global team by delivering high-quality execution across multiple asset classes, with an emphasis on efficiency, risk control, and market intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute trades across multiple asset classes, including futures, equities, bonds, FX, and rates, with a primary focus on China markets
- Partner closely with portfolio managers and research teams to implement investment decisions efficiently and responsibly
- Manage day-to-day execution workflows, ensuring best execution, liquidity management, and cost control
- Monitor market conditions, regulatory developments, and microstructure dynamics in China
- Provide real-time market feedback, trade analysis, and post-trade review to investment teams
- Ensure adherence to internal risk controls, compliance standards, and local regulatory requirements
- Support ongoing improvement of execution processes, tools, and broker relationships
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an execution trader, preferably within a buy-side or global institutional platform
- Strong hands-on experience in China markets (onshore and/or offshore)
- Asset class experience across futures, equities, bonds, FX, and rates preferred
- Solid understanding of market microstructure, liquidity, and execution strategies
- Strong risk awareness, attention to detail, and ability to operate in fast-moving markets
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with global stakeholders
- Based in Shanghai (or already on the ground in China); Mandarin fluency required, English working proficiency preferred
