Position: Japanese-Speaking Investment Analyst

Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and bilingual (Japanese-Chinese) Investment Analyst to join our Shanghai office. This role is ideal for someone passionate about financial markets and eager to contribute to a global investment team with a focus on Japan-related opportunities. The successful candidate will support research, portfolio analysis, and investment execution across multiple asset classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research on Japanese equities, macroeconomic trends, and industry developments
- Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and investment memos
- Monitor portfolio performance and provide timely updates to portfolio managers
- Assist in trade execution and post-trade analysis for Japan-related positions
- Translate and interpret Japanese financial documents, earnings calls, and news sources
- Collaborate with global teams to support cross-border investment strategies
- Prepare presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in investment research, asset management, or financial services preferred
- Native or fluent Japanese language skills; strong proficiency in English
- Solid understanding of Japanese financial markets and corporate landscape
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and financial modeling; Python or SQL is a plus
- CFA designation or progress toward it is a plus
