Job Summary
A leading global financial institution is seeking a Senior Executive Director, Natural Gas Research to play a critical role within its Commodities Research platform. This individual will sit at the forefront of U.S. natural gas market analysis, modeling, and strategy, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across research, trading, sales, and clients. Reporting to the Head of Global Commodities Research, the role offers significant exposure, influence, and international collaboration.
The successful candidate will deliver high‑impact insights that directly inform market views, trading decisions, and client strategies, with opportunities for regional and international engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in‑depth research and analysis of the U.S. natural gas market, with a focus on supply/demand dynamics, pricing, policy, and regulatory developments
- Develop, enhance, and maintain quantitative and fundamental models to forecast market trends and assess industry implications
- Produce and present high‑quality research, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to both internal stakeholders and external clients
- Monitor market developments in real time, delivering timely and actionable insights
- Collaborate closely with oil and global gas research teams to integrate cross‑commodity views and ensure a consistent, data‑driven market outlook
- Act as a senior thought partner in shaping the broader commodities research agenda
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Energy Studies, or a related discipline
- Significant experience in U.S. natural gas market analysis, within research, analytics, or a related commercial environment
- Strong analytical and quantitative skillset, with experience using industry‑relevant data and modeling tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling insights
- Demonstrated track record of delivering high‑quality research with tangible commercial impact
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across global, cross‑functional teams
- Deep understanding of the key drivers shaping the U.S. natural gas market
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a global commodities research framework and exposure to cross‑market model integration
- Familiarity with advanced modeling techniques and industry‑standard analytical platforms
