Director, Equity Finance and Delta One trader
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Execution & Order Management: Oversee the execution and management of the synthetic swap desk, ensuring efficient market execution and strict adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.
- Product Focus: Specialise in Delta One equity swaps and manage the Stock Borrow Loan (SBL) inventory desk.
- Client & Market Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with buy-side clients, interbank counterparties, and institutional investors to drive business growth.
- Funding & Inventory Optimisation: Collaborate closely with the Equity Finance team to optimise funding and inventory utilisation.
- Client Coverage: Partner with the sales team to deliver trading solutions and ensure client requests are met promptly and accurately.
- Process Improvement: Streamline trading and order management processes, identify deficiencies, and implement enhancements; develop on-desk tools as needed.
- Risk & P&L Management: Ensure accurate daily trade bookings to capture all risks and P&L correctly.
- Market Analysis & Idea Generation: Conduct weekly analysis of client trading behaviour, market developments, and generate new trading ideas.
- Technology Collaboration: Work with technology teams to design and implement a robust swap order management system.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: University degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in synthetic swap trading roles within Asian markets.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Delta One products (ETFs, Equity Swaps, Futures); familiarity with Equity Finance products is advantageous.
- Prime Brokerage Knowledge: Strong understanding of prime brokerage operations, including client onboarding, trade capture, portfolio margining, and risk monitoring.
- Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong organisational and leadership capabilities; highly motivated with a positive attitude and ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and programming skills in VBA/Python.
- Languages: Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is preferred.
