A global investment and technology-driven firm is seeking a Data Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of its enterprise-wide data platform, built on Microsoft Azure and Snowflake. This role involves both strategic architectural leadership and hands-on implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams to modernize and scale data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the architecture of a cloud-based data platform in alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead architectural decision-making and align technical direction across the project team.
- Operate, manage, and optimize platform performance in collaboration with internal cloud infrastructure teams.
- Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver scalable solutions.
- Implement robust data governance and security frameworks to safeguard sensitive information.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to ensure the platform remains future-ready.
- Participate in enterprise architecture discussions to ensure alignment with broader IT strategy.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing, developing, and operating large-scale cloud-based data platforms, ideally within finance or technology sectors.
- Academic background in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven leadership in guiding development teams, establishing best practices, and aligning technical strategies.
- Strong grasp of modern development methodologies, including DevOps and Infrastructure as Code.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Terraform, Python, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience migrating on-premises data warehouse systems to the cloud is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English; German proficiency is a bonus.
