What You'll Do
- Evaluate and profile new datasets to understand their structure, coverage, and potential value for research and trading teams.
- Analyze data quality across multiple dimensions including completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and validity.
- Partner with data engineering teams to support onboarding, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise data assets.
- Curate and maintain data catalogs to improve discoverability and transparency of available datasets.
- Support internal stakeholders by investigating data content questions, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with third-party data providers.
- Monitor production datasets and resolve data-related issues in collaboration with engineering, operations, and research teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, data quality controls, and overall data management practices.
What They're Looking For
- 1-2 years of experience in data analytics, market data, financial services, or a related field.
- Understanding of financial markets, securities, and market data concepts.
- Strong SQL skills and experience using Python for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter Notebooks, PySpark preferred).
- Ability to investigate complex datasets and clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS data services such as Athena and S3.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and Bash scripting.
- Experience using Git or other version control platforms.
- Knowledge of data quality frameworks and controls.
- Exposure to Bloomberg or other financial data platforms.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
