Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst

A financial institution is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to support its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team in evaluating and managing credit-related risks associated with depository institution members and non-members. This role involves conducting financial analyses, executing risk models, and developing reporting tools to support prudent lending and collateral decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Perform credit and financial analysis of depository institutions using tools such as S&P Market Intelligence, regulatory filings, SEC reports, and confidential examination documents.
  • Summarize findings in written credit reviews to support credit decisions and collateral requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with institutions to discuss financial condition and incorporate insights into risk assessments.

Model Execution & Analysis

  • Execute and interpret credit risk models to inform underwriting and collateral decisions.
  • Monitor model performance and provide recommendations for improvements.

Financial Research & Reporting

  • Design and develop dashboards and reports to support ERM decision-making.
  • Collaborate with IT and project teams or use end-user computing tools to optimize reporting processes.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with internal and regulatory credit risk standards.

Risk Assessment & Process Improvement

  • Assist in ongoing credit risk evaluations of depository institutions.
  • Recommend updates to risk assessment frameworks and enhance related processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Industry Monitoring & Special Projects

  • Stay current on banking industry trends through research, training, and professional development.
  • Participate in internal committees and contribute to special projects related to member credit risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial institutions, preferably in credit analysis, financial reporting, or risk management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory call reports and depository institution operations.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Power BI, Python, or other data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Must meet background requirements and be eligible to work full-time.
