Consulting Actuary - Medicare Advantage, Part D

We're partnering with a healthcare consulting firm that is looking to add an experienced MAPD actuary to its team. This is a hybrid position based in Tampa, Florida, and they're looking for someone who has been heavily involved in MA pricing, bid development, and broader financial strategy.

If you've built a strong foundation in Medicare Advantage and are looking for a role where you can have more influence, greater client exposure, and a larger seat at the table, this could be worth exploring.

This opportunity offers a mix of technical actuarial work, client-facing consulting, and leadership responsibility. You'll work directly with health plans and other healthcare organizations on high-priority Medicare Advantage initiatives while partnering with a team that is well-established within the healthcare consulting spac

What You'll Be Focused On

  • Leading Medicare Advantage pricing and bid development projects
  • Analyzing healthcare data and turning it into actionable recommendations
  • Working directly with clients to communicate findings and support decision-making
  • Managing projects from kickoff through delivery
  • Mentoring analysts and junior actuaries while providing technical oversight
  • Partnering with consulting teams and client leadership on key Medicare Advantage initiatives

What They're Looking For

  • FSA designation preferred, open to ASA
  • Significant MAPD pricing and bid-setting experience
  • A track record of leading projects and developing junior team members
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-actuarial audiences
  • Deep understanding of the Medicare Advantage market and broader healthcare landscape
  • Additional experience with ACA pricing, forecasting, reserving, or related actuarial work is a plus
  • Exposure to SQL, SAS, Python, or other analytical tools is helpful

Why This Role

A lot of actuarial opportunities talk about leadership, strategy, and client exposure. This is one of the roles where you'll actually get it.

You'll be working directly with clients, contributing to key business decisions, and helping drive solutions that impact Medicare Advantage performance and growth. There's a strong team already in place, plenty of interesting project work, and an opportunity to continue building your consulting and leadership skillset while staying close to the actuarial work itself.
