Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Commodities Trader to join our trading desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and executing trading opportunities across physical and/or derivative commodity markets, managing risk, and contributing to the firm's overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute trades across a range of commodity products including energy, metals, and agricultural markets.
- Develop and maintain market views based on supply/demand fundamentals, macroeconomic trends, and geopolitical developments.
- Monitor and manage trading positions, ensuring adherence to risk limits and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and other traders to generate trade ideas and optimize execution.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, counterparties, and market participants.
- Provide regular updates on market conditions, trade performance, and strategy evolution to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven track record in commodities trading, ideally within a hedge fund, bank, or trading house.
- Strong understanding of commodity markets, derivatives (futures, options, swaps), and trading mechanics.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; familiarity with Python, Excel/VBA, or other analytical tools is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and make fast, informed decisions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
