AI FinOps Analyst

Key Responsibilities

AI Platform Administration & Operations

  • Oversee administration of enterprise-approved AI applications and platforms, including user onboarding, permissions management, license allocation, and system configuration.
  • Act as the central resource for platform-related inquiries, troubleshooting efforts, escalation management, and coordination with third-party providers.
  • Monitor platform performance, service availability, and operational effectiveness to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of platform inventories, subscriptions, contractual agreements, and supporting documentation.

Financial Management & Optimization

  • Own financial oversight for enterprise AI solutions, including spend monitoring, usage analysis, forecasting, and cost allocation initiatives.
  • Evaluate consumption trends and licensing utilization to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and expense reduction.
  • Partner with Finance teams on budgeting activities, invoice validation, accruals, forecasting exercises, and financial reporting.
  • Lead efforts to optimize software investments through subscription rationalization, license recovery initiatives, and adoption-driven cost controls.
  • Coordinate renewal negotiations, contract reviews, and pricing discussions with technology vendors.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Create and maintain executive-level dashboards highlighting adoption trends, utilization metrics, cost performance, and business outcomes.
  • Analyze platform data to generate actionable recommendations regarding usage patterns, value realization, and operational improvements.
  • Deliver meaningful insights that help leadership assess ROI and measure the impact of AI-enabled initiatives.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting standards that provide visibility into platform effectiveness and investment performance.

Governance & Compliance

  • Support and enhance the organization's AI governance framework, ensuring adherence to internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the review, selection, implementation, and ongoing oversight of approved AI technologies and service providers.
  • Maintain detailed, audit-ready documentation surrounding platform operations, governance activities, vendor relationships, and compliance controls.
  • Monitor compliance with established policies, escalating risks, exceptions, or control deficiencies when identified.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Security, Procurement, and business functions to promote responsible AI adoption.

Desired Experience & Skills

  • Strong proficiency with reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Excel, and similar analytics platforms.
  • Working knowledge of SaaS subscription models, technology cost management methodologies, and FinOps best practices.
  • Familiarity with modern enterprise AI environments and productivity platforms, including generative AI solutions and intelligent automation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology vendors, software contracts, renewals, and commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to evaluate software utilization data and develop recommendations that improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary spend.
  • Experience administering enterprise software environments, including user access controls, entitlement management, and platform governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to transform complex data into business-focused recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain technical, financial, and operational concepts to a broad audience.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities while working across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Professional Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related discipline required.
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Technology financial management
    • FinOps
    • IT operations
    • SaaS administration
    • Financial analysis
    • Business operations
    • Technology governance
