eFX Quantitative Developer
Our client is seeking a VP-level Python Quant Developer to join their high-performing eFX Statistical Modelling and Development team at a leading investment bank in London. This is a business-critical role focused on building, maintaining, and optimising tools that support the team's quantitative research and trading capabilities.
As a Python Quant Developer, you'll work in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment, where top talent will both challenge and support you to perform at your best. You'll play a key role in enhancing performance across core technologies and trading strategies, while also engaging directly with the business to solve real-world problems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain Python-based infrastructure for statistical modelling, pricing, and analytics.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable Python code with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with researchers and traders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Generate reports and insights using the tools you build to support decision-making.
- Contribute to collaborative engineering practices, including code reviews and design discussions.
- Improve development pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring systems.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
- Strong interest in financial markets and business-driven problem solving.
- Experience within financial services, ideally in FX, fixed income, or derivatives.
- Proficiency with statistical libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Polars.
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, version control).
- Familiarity with C++ is a plus.
- Exposure to pricing libraries like QuantLib, Strata, or similar is advantageous.
- High level of energy and enthusiasm to learn more about financial products and trading
