West Coast External Wholesaler
A boutique hedge fund with just under $20 billion in AUM is seeking an external wholesaler to cover the West Coast and sit in Los Angeles or San Francisco. The firm focuses its investments in the fintech space, targeting innovative and disruptive technologies. The firm is looking for a senior distribution professional to join their lean sales team and contribute to the entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment that characterizes the fintech industry and a Bay Area-based manager. This is a high-impact role offering significant visibility and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and investment professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate revenue and product sales through structured calling plans, conference attendance, and regional advisor offices
- Manage the West Coast territory with frequent travel primarily within California
- Provide coverage for all investment products (hedge fund strategies and venture) and focus on WireHouses, RIAs, and IBDs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors and key decision-makers
Key Qualifications:
- 3-10 years of experience in an external wholesaling seat at a traditional or alternative asset manager (prior experience selling hedge funds and venture capital is not a requirement)
- Experience with WireHouses, RIAs, and IBDs and strong ability to master comprehension of new or unfamiliar products
- Ideally has a preexisting network of contacts across all three channels in the West Coast
- Bachelor's Degree, CFA is a plus
- FINRA licenses, including Series 6 or 7, and 63 or 65
