Staff Accountant
My client, a software development company based in Westford, MA, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant. This role involves handling various accounting tasks, including account reconciliation, monthly close review, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will be a recent college graduate or have 1-2 years of corporate accounting experience, including internships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Recent college graduate or 1-2 years of corporate accounting experience (internships in accounting are welcome)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- ERP system experience preferred
- Proficient in Excel
Responsibilities:
- Corporate Month-End Close Process: Play a key role in the corporate month-end close process. This includes performing account reconciliations, managing the general ledger, and assisting with financial consolidation. Your attention to detail and accuracy will ensure the integrity of the company's financial records.
- Internal Financial Reporting: Assist with the company's internal financial reporting needs. This includes conducting variance analysis to compare actual financial results with budgeted figures, identifying trends, and explaining variances. Your analytical skills will provide valuable insights for decision-making.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with the Big 4 Audit team to support audit efforts. This involves providing necessary documentation, answering audit queries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. Your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively will facilitate a smooth audit process.
- Global Monthly Financial Close Implementation: Support the implementation of the global monthly financial close process. This includes identifying areas for improvement, suggesting enhancements, and ensuring consistency across all financial operations. Your innovative mindset and problem-solving skills will help optimize the financial close process.
