The Core Financial Products Engineering team's mission is to build secure, scalable systems that power key financial offerings and help broaden access to financial tools. We focus on reliability, correctness, and innovation while partnering closely with product, design, and data teams.
As a Backend Software Engineer, you'll design, build, and maintain infrastructure and services critical to financial products. You'll gain deep insight into how the U.S. financial system works, strengthen your domain expertise, and make a tangible impact on millions of users. This is an opportunity to contribute to highly visible features and evolve the platform in meaningful ways.
This role is fully remote.
What You'll Do
Design, build, test, and release backend systems with high correctness, reliability, and scalability requirements
Own and maintain key services that power the financial product ecosystem
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve complex engineering and business challenges
Integrate with external financial institutions to expand capabilities
Contribute to engineering best practices and developer workflow improvements
What You Bring
4-5 years of hands‑on software engineering experience
Proficiency with Python/Django or Go (4-5 years)
Strong understanding of relational databases and transaction‑safe design
Curiosity about financial systems or a strong desire to learn
Solid computer science fundamentals and a problem‑solving mindset
Ability to operate with minimal support and hit the ground running
