Software Developer (C++)

Our client, a leading global systematic investment firm, is seeking a Software Developer (C++) to join their Londonbased engineering team. This role sits within a core trading technology function responsible for building and operating the systems that connect the firm's trading platform to exchanges and brokers worldwide. You will work closely with trading, quantitative research, and risk teams to deliver reliable, highperformance market connectivity across asset classes.

To be successful, you will bring strong experience developing productioncritical C++ systems on Linux, ideally within electronic trading or market data environments. You should be comfortable owning systems endtoend, from design and implementation through deployment and production support. The role offers exposure to latencysensitive components of the trading stack, alongside close collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external market venues.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support exchange connectivity and market data infrastructure used in live trading
  • Own exchange upgrades and broker integrations, from requirements analysis through testing and external certification
  • Contribute to performancecritical and latencysensitive components of the market access platform
  • Work closely with external exchanges and brokers, as well as internal trading, research, and risk teams
  • Support and evolve systems across the endtoend trading lifecycle

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional C++ development experience on Linux
  • Strong Python and shell scripting skills for automation and operational support
  • Experience building multithreaded, distributed systems, ideally in trading or market data environments
  • Knowledge of exchange connectivity, trading gateways, and/or FIX protocol
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, ownershipdriven mindset
