Senior Rates and FX Strategist - Greater China
Job Summary:
Our clients are seeking a seasoned Rates and FX Strategist with deep expertise in the Greater China region.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Analysis & Strategy Development:
- Develop and publish high-quality research on China's interest rate and FX markets, including CNY, CNH, HKD, and TWD.
- Monitor and interpret macroeconomic data, central bank policy, and geopolitical developments impacting rates and FX.
- Formulate and communicate trade ideas and risk scenarios to sales, trading, and clients.
Client Engagement:
- Present market views and strategies to institutional clients, including asset managers, hedge funds, corporates, and sovereign entities.
- Collaborate with sales teams to tailor strategies to client portfolios and investment objectives.
Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with trading desks to provide real-time market insights and support risk-taking decisions.
- Coordinate with economists and strategists across regions to ensure a cohesive global macro view.
Thought Leadership:
- Contribute to flagship publications and thematic research pieces.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, media engagements, and client events.
Qualifications:
- 7-15 years of experience in macro strategy, research, or trading with a focus on Greater China.
- Strong academic background in economics, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Deep understanding of China's monetary policy framework, capital markets, and regulatory environment.
- Proven track record of generating market-relevant insights and trade ideas.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Mandarin proficiency highly preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with quantitative tools and data analysis (e.g., Python, Bloomberg, Excel).
- Familiarity with offshore RMB markets and cross-border capital flows.
- Strong network within the Greater China financial community.
