Position Overview:
Our client, an A+ rated (AM Best) and 5‑Star Claims Carrier award winner, is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Claims Specialist to their general liability team. This role will be responsible for carrying out coverage review, claims investigation, administration, and settlement for General Liability claims. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience handling general liability claims nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of complex claims by coordinating investigations, evaluating factual and legal issues, and ensuring matters are handled efficiently from initial review through resolution.
- Independently evaluate exposure by assessing coverage applicability, liability theories, damages, and contractual risk allocation, using this analysis to establish sound reserves and guide strategic decisions.
- Formulate claim strategies that align legal, financial, and business considerations, including selecting, instructing, and supervising counsel and incorporating jurisdiction‑specific legal developments into ongoing evaluations.
- Actively pursue favorable outcomes through negotiation, mediation, and participation in hearings or trials when appropriate, with a consistent focus on controlling costs and minimizing financial impact.
- Support effective claim administration by maintaining accurate records and timelines, delivering clear written and verbal updates to leadership, and facilitating communication among all internal and external stakeholders involved in the matter.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial general liability claims experience.
- Maintain necessary state licenses.
- Proven record of success in negotiation & investigation.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
