Overview
A restructuring and financial advisory firm focused on middle‑market companies is seeking a Restructuring Associate to support turnaround, restructuring, and special situations engagements. This role offers hands‑on exposure to complex financial and operational challenges and the opportunity to work closely with senior professionals, company management, and key stakeholders.
Role Description
The Restructuring Associate will play an integral role in executing restructuring and turnaround assignments. The position requires strong financial analysis skills, comfort working in fast‑paced situations, and the ability to support multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 13‑week cash flow forecasts, integrated financial models, and scenario analyses
- Analyze historical and projected financial statements, liquidity positions, working capital trends, and debt obligations
- Support the development of restructuring and turnaround plans, including operational and financial initiatives
- Prepare analyses and presentation materials for lenders, creditors, boards, and other stakeholders
- Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to support strategic recommendations
- Assist with negotiations and information requests involving lenders, advisors, and counterparties
- Monitor performance against forecasts, budgets, and restructuring milestones
- Work directly with management teams in time‑sensitive and high‑pressure environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in restructuring, turnaround consulting, investment banking, transaction advisory, private credit, or related fields
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with cash flow forecasting required
- Strong understanding of financial statements, capital structures, and liquidity analysis
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to distressed or underperforming companies
- Experience supporting lender negotiations, covenant analysis, or restructuring processes
- CPA, CFA, or progress toward a relevant professional certification
Compensation: $115,000 - $150,000 Base
