Reserving Manager
Our client is a fast-growing UK insurer on a mission to lead the personal lines market. With recent acquisitions, this organisation is now on track to become the largest personal lines insurer in the UK. They are seeking a Qualified Actuary to join them as a Reserving Manager playing a key role in their reserving team. It's an exciting time to join a company that's scaling fast and investing in innovation. . As manager of the Reserving Team, you'll play a central role in delivering high-quality reserving analysis and insights. You'll be part of a collaborative actuarial team structured across household and motor, with sub-teams in risk pricing, product pricing, pricing deployment, and project pricing. This is a great opportunity for those around the Reserving Actuary level, and who are keen to take on more responsibility and work closely with the chief actuary. Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead quarterly and monthly reserve reviews and deliver detailed actuarial reports.
- Drive transformation projects to modernise reserving processes.
- Conduct claims analysis and translate insights into business value.
- Mentor and manage analysts, supporting their development and performance.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of general insurance and actuarial principles.
- Strong project management and delegation skills.
- Confident communicator with experience presenting to non-actuarial audiences.
- Proactive problem-solver with a self-starting attitude.
- Leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and team development.
- Interest in coding (especially Python) is a plus.
