PL Product Development Manager
Overview
An exclusive client of ours is seeking a Product Development Manager to support the design, enhancement, and ongoing management of personal lines products, including auto, homeowners, and umbrella coverage. This is a newly created role focused on improving product performance, strengthening market competitiveness, and driving profitability. The position plays a key role in analyzing trends, identifying opportunities, and collaborating across the organization to implement impactful product and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
- Lead the development and enhancement of personal lines insurance products.
- Build and manage short- and long-term product roadmaps.
- Develop and present product recommendations to senior leadership.
- Ensure alignment of product initiatives with broader organizational goals.
Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities.
- Evaluate emerging trends and customer needs to improve product offerings.
- Apply analytical frameworks to solve customer pain points and enhance value propositions.
Execution & Implementation
- Oversee the execution of product enhancements from concept through implementation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (actuarial, underwriting, claims, compliance, IT, and project management) to ensure timely delivery.
- Support internal communication and rollout of product changes to stakeholders and customers.
Performance Monitoring
- Analyze product performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and growth.
- Ensure products remain competitive and aligned with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience in insurance product development, product management, actuarial, or analytics.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex business challenges.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
