Hedge Fund Head of Sales

A well‑established European alternative asset manager is seeking to appoint a Head of Sales.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the firm's sales and client servicing platform, while also remaining actively involved in investor engagement and relationship management. This is a senior, high‑impact role with both strategic leadership and hands‑on commercial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead, manage, and develop a commercial team across sales and client services.
- Act as a senior leader within the organisation, contributing to long‑term commercial strategy and succession planning.
- Foster a high‑performance culture focused on investor engagement, service quality, and long‑term asset retention.
- Oversee team structure, coverage models, and performance objectives.
Sales & Distribution (Player‑Coach)
- Maintain direct responsibility for a select group of key investor relationships.
- Actively contribute to fundraising efforts alongside the team, particularly with strategic or complex allocators.
- Represent the firm in senior‑level investor meetings, conferences, and roadshows.
- Ensure consistent and high‑quality messaging around investment strategies, performance, and risk management.
Client Coverage & Asset Retention
- Oversee investor servicing standards, ensuring timely, thoughtful, and professional client engagement.
- Work closely with portfolio management, operations, and compliance teams to ensure best‑in‑class investor experience.
- Take accountability for asset retention and long‑term relationship quality, not solely new asset gathering.
Business Strategy
- Contribute to the evolution of the firm's distribution strategy across geographies and investor channels.
- Provide feedback to senior management on market trends, investor demand, and competitive positioning.
- Support the development of new products or vehicles where relevant.
Candidate Profile
Background
- Senior sales leader currently managing a distribution team within:
- An asset management firm (traditional or alternative), or
- A banking environment, ideally within capital introduction or institutional sales.
- Proven experience leading teams rather than operating purely as an individual contributor.
