FX Operations Specialist | Global Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund
Our client is a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund with a strong presence across Fixed Income & Macro, Relative Value, Equities, Capital Markets and Quantitative Trading strategies. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an FX Operations Specialist to support a dynamic investment platform and work directly alongside Portfolio Managers and traders in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
This is a highly visible role sitting within the Operations team, providing daily support across the FX trading lifecycle. You will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Risk, Product Control, Technology, Fund Administrators, Prime Brokers and external counterparties to ensure accurate trade processing, reconciliation, and issue resolution across a range of FX products.
This position offers excellent exposure to a sophisticated hedge fund environment and would suit candidates looking to move closer to the investment process while developing expertise across global FX markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cash and position reconciliations across internal systems, prime brokers and external platforms
- Investigate, escalate and resolve reconciliation breaks in a timely manner
- Support trade capture and trade support activities for FX portfolios
- Monitor and manage lifecycle events including settlements, expiries, cashflows and position maintenance
- Investigate booking discrepancies, trade breaks and P&L-related queries
- Liaise regularly with Portfolio Managers, traders, risk, finance and external counterparties
- Identify operational inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Assist with operational controls and ensure data integrity across platforms
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience gained within hedge funds, asset management, investment banking, or fund operations environments
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle
- Exposure toFX products including:
- Spot FX
- FX Forwards
- NDFs
- FX Swaps
- FX Options / Exotic FX products
- Experience in trade support, middle office, operations or product control functions
- Familiarity with OMS and trading platforms such as Bloomberg AIM, Orchestrade, Geneva or similar systems is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-strategy investment environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
