Role Overview:
The Director / VP will play a senior leadership role within the investment team, driving origination, due diligence, and portfolio support across biotech and healthcare opportunities in Southeast Asia. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong scientific background and proven investment acumen, capable of bridging technical expertise with commercial insight. The role offers direct exposure to senior leadership, significant influence on investment strategy, and the opportunity to shape the fund's portfolio in one of the fastest-growing sectors globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify high-potential biotech and healthcare startups across Southeast Asia. Conduct rigorous scientific and technical due diligence to assess the viability of new technologies and business models.
- Continuously monitor and analyze emerging trends, innovations, and scientific advancements in the biotech and healthcare industries. Evaluate the market potential and impact of novel technologies.
- Utilize expertise in biology or related fields to assess the technical feasibility of investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with entrepreneurs and technical teams to evaluate the scientific and commercial potential of their innovations.
- Support the deal team in managing the investment pipeline, tracking deal flow, and assessing potential investment opportunities.
- Contribute innovative ideas and insights to enhance internal processes, investment strategies, and decision-making within the investment team.
- Assist in providing support to portfolio companies, helping them navigate challenges and scale effectively within the biotech and healthcare sectors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field; Master's or PhD strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the biotech, healthcare, or life sciences sectors, with proven track record in investment, venture capital, or corporate strategy.
- Deep understanding of Southeast Asia's biotech and healthcare landscape, including key players, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at senior levels.
