Consumer | Investment Banking Associate | London
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our client's Investment Banking team in London, with a focus on the Consumer sector and deep specialisation in Food & Beverage.
This role offers immediate exposure to high-profile, cross-border transactions, providing hands-on involvement in complex strategic projects and meaningful responsibility from day one. The team is widely recognised for its expertise advising leading food, beverage, and broader consumer companies, ranging from multinational corporates to high-growth brands and private equity sponsors.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of complex M&A, restructuring, and capital-raising transactions across the Consumer sector, with a particular emphasis on Food & Beverage.
- Manage deal teams and oversee end-to-end transaction processes, including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, and preparation of client-ready materials.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives, founders, private equity investors, and strategic buyers within the consumer and F&B space.
- Oversee the preparation of high-quality pitch materials, transaction documentation, and sector-driven analyses, ensuring commercial relevance and insight into key consumer trends.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance on financial analysis, process management, and sector understanding.
- Collaborate with colleagues across international offices to deliver seamless execution on cross-border mandates involving global consumer brands and investors.
- Track and interpret key trends within Food & Beverage, including evolving consumer preferences, supply chain dynamics, and consolidation activity, translating these into actionable insights for clients.
Requirements
- Experience: 4-6 years of investment banking or financial advisory experience, with a strong track record in M&A and capital markets transactions within Consumer, ideally with demonstrable Food & Beverage deal exposure.
- Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities, with a strong understanding of sector-specific dynamics such as margin structures, brand equity, and growth drivers in F&B.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead deal execution, manage multiple workstreams, and support the development of junior professionals.
- Client Management: Strong relationship-building skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders across corporates, sponsors, and founder-led businesses.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Analytical Ability: High attention to detail, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Global Mindset: Experience working on cross-border transactions and collaborating with international teams.
