Overview:
A leading global financial institution is seeking a mid-level professional to join its Capital Structure & Rating Advisory (CSRA) team, focusing on sovereign and multilateral development bank clients. The role involves supporting senior team members in delivering strategic insights on capital structure, ratings, and funding strategies to enhance client engagement and origination efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Advisory & Execution
- Support the implementation of sovereign advisory strategy across origination, coverage, and execution.
- Assist in developing client materials on topics such as debt optimisation, investor engagement, policy planning, and ratings strategy.
- Contribute to rating advisory mandates through financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Conduct research on macroeconomic, regulatory, and political themes relevant to sovereign clients.
- Build knowledge of external rating methodologies and institutional frameworks.
Internal Processes & Governance
- Maintain internal databases and deal pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with conflict of interest protocols and governance standards.
- Track work progress using team-agreed tools and methodologies.
Risk & Conduct
- Proactively identify and address regulatory, reputational, and ethical risks.
- Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and integrity.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams including relationship managers, product partners, economists, and risk officers.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as sovereign clients, rating agencies, and industry platforms.
Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience in sovereign advisory, rating agency, or relevant financial institution.
- Strong understanding of sovereign balance sheets, rating methodologies, and policy frameworks.
- Comfortable in client-facing roles with an advisory or structuring focus.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work across cultures and teams.
- French language skills are advantageous but not required.
