Associate - ABL Underwriting
A rapidly growing direct lender specializing in asset‑based lending is seeking an Underwriting Analyst/Associate to join its credit team. This role offers hands‑on ownership of underwriting, diligence, and financial analysis across a variety of ABL transactions. You will work closely with borrowers, management teams, and third‑party providers to evaluate collateral, assess risk, and support deal execution. The position is well‑suited for candidates who excel in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial credit environments and enjoy managing multiple workflows with high accountability. - Support the underwriting team in all aspects of diligence, financial analysis, and deal execution
- Oversee daily underwriting workflows, including borrower data intake, diligence tracking, and coordination across internal and external stakeholders
- Interface directly with borrowers, management teams, third‑party providers (field examiners, appraisers), and internal credit partners
- Identify emerging risks, escalate diligence issues promptly, and contribute to ongoing process and data workflow improvements
Requirements
- 3-6+ years of experience in ABL, private credit, specialty finance, investment banking, transaction services, restructuring, or similar analytical roles
- Hands‑on involvement in underwriting, diligence, financial statement analysis, and closing processes
- Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, communicate with external stakeholders, and operate effectively in fast‑moving credit environments
- High attention to detail, strong organizational discipline, and sound judgment in identifying risk
