Analyst, Equity Portfolio Management
Overview
We are seeking an Equity Portfolio Management Analyst to support our investment team across portfolio construction, research analytics, and day‑to‑day portfolio operations. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical capability with a deep understanding of equity markets, investment strategies, and portfolio risk dynamics. The Analyst will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Research Analysts to help drive performance, enhance portfolio insight, and ensure seamless execution of investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Analytics & Monitoring
- Monitor daily portfolio performance, factor exposures, risk metrics, and attribution.
- Support ongoing analysis of holdings, position sizing, sector/industry trends, and contribution to return.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly portfolio reporting dashboards for the investment team.
Investment Support & Research
- Assist in evaluating new investment ideas through financial modeling, valuation work, competitive analysis, and fundamental research.
- Prepare materials and insights for investment committee discussions and portfolio reviews.
- Track catalysts, earnings releases, macro trends, and market drivers impacting portfolio companies.
Trade & Execution Support
- Coordinate with traders to ensure accurate trade capture, order management, and post‑trade verification.
- Maintain accurate portfolio data within internal systems and modeling tools.
- Review corporate actions, index rebalances, and other events impacting positions.
Portfolio Construction & Risk Oversight
- Support PMs in optimizing portfolios across risk, return, liquidity, and factor exposures.
- Assist in stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity modeling.
- Work with risk management to ensure portfolios follow guidelines, mandates, and regulatory requirements.
Operational Excellence
- Partner with operations, compliance, and reporting teams to ensure data integrity and smooth portfolio workflows.
- Assist with audit requests, client reporting, and performance documentation as needed.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance analytical efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- 1-4 years of experience in equity research, portfolio management, investment analytics, or a similar buy‑side/sell‑side role.
- Strong understanding of equity markets, financial statements, and valuation methodologies.
- Proficiency with Excel; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, or similar tools preferred.
- Working knowledge of programming languages (Python, R, SQL) is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
- High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a strong passion for public‑market investing.
