Actuary
Our client, a leading P&C insurance carrier with a strong national presence, is actively seeking to expand their actuarial team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organization known for its innovation and commitment to excellence in the insurance industry.
In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Actuary and collaborate closely with senior leadership, playing a key role in shaping strategic decisions. You'll be responsible for supporting pricing, reserving, and forecasting initiatives, as well as contributing to the development of new products and risk management strategies. This position offers significant visibility and the chance to make a tangible impact on the company's financial performance and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze insurance data to develop pricing models and set premium rates for various P&C insurance products.
- Perform loss reserving to estimate future claim liabilities and ensure adequate financial reserves.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to assess risk and support product development strategies.
- Conduct profitability analyses across different lines of business and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for forecasting, pricing, and reserving purposes.
- Prepare regulatory filings and support compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.
- Communicate complex actuarial findings to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging risks, and changes in legislation that may impact actuarial assumptions.
Key Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a P&C actuarial role, with exposure to pricing, reserving, or predictive modeling.
- Strong proficiency in actuarial software and tools such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, or SAS.
