Vice President, Project Finance (Energy Transition & Natural Resources)

A leading global banking platform is seeking a Vice President to join its New Energies & Natural Resources team within a wellestablished EMEA Structured Finance division. This is a key hire for a group driving the financing of largescale energy and natural resources projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with a particular focus on lowcarbon technologies and transitionlinked infrastructure.

This opportunity offers exposure to both traditional and emerging energy sectors, strong deal flow, and the ability to take significant responsibility within a collaborative, highperforming environment.

The VP will support and lead the execution of complex project finance and structured transactions, contribute to marketing and origination efforts, and work closely with senior colleagues across multiple functions.

The role is highly analytical and requires strong technical foundations, financial modelling capability, familiarity with project documentation, and excellent communication skills for both internal and client-facing interactions.

The team covers the full energy value chain, including:

Lowcarbon & new energy sectors

  • Battery storage
  • Carbon capture
  • Hydrogen, biofuels, and emerging transition technologies

Conventional natural resources

  • Midstream & downstream energy
  • Selected upstream and gas value chain
  • Strategic energy infrastructure

The bank provides financing, advisory, and capital markets solutions through an integrated model that works closely with coverage, syndications, credit, operations, and regional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support or lead transaction execution across the project lifecycle, including modelling, due diligence, structuring, and documentation review.
  • Prepare credit applications and manage data requirements for internal systems.
  • Interface with internal teams including Credit, Portfolio Management, Operations, Legal, Syndications, DCM, trading desks, and regional offices.
  • Engage clients in marketing, origination, KYC, and due diligence processes.
  • Develop marketing materials and support business development initiatives.
  • Manage designated client/product/region portfolios for outreach.
  • Contribute to training and supporting junior team members within deal teams.
  • Work across 6-12 live transactions annually, spanning both greenfield and brownfield assets.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support distribution, asset management, and broader structured finance activities as required.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Significant project finance experience within energy, natural resources, or adjacent infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of PF theory, documentation, risk allocation and execution.
  • Experience in acquisition finance is highly desirable.
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously with high accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills for client meetings, negotiations, and internal coordination.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to guide junior team members.
  • Familiarity with internal credit processes and crossfunctional banking workflows.
