Turnaround & Restructuring Associate (Paramus, NJ)
Job Description:
The firm is looking for an experienced Associate to join its growing restructuring practice. This individual will provide direct support to senior professionals within the firm and must be comfortable accepting a high level of responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting company and industry research.
- Analyzing companies, industries, historical financial statements, and prospective financial information.
- Utilizing business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including, but not limited to the following: financial modeling and analysis, cash flow forecasting and management, contingency planning, transaction support, valuation analysis and business plan review.
- Preparing presentations and other materials.
- Participating in business development, marketing, recruiting, and practice development activities.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, willingness to travel, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Additional qualifications include:
- Three to six years of overall professional experience in finance or accounting, ideally with a minimum of 2 years of restructuring advisory experience. Familiarity with the bankruptcy/turnaround process is a plus.
- Client Service Experience. Preferable that candidate understands the consulting process and has previous work experience in a client service environment. Familiarity with the bankruptcy/turnaround process is also a plus.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), including constructing and understanding 3-statement financial models, cash flows and scenario analyses.
- Strong analytical skills. Experience and ability to efficiently perform data analysis that results in useful insights.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work demands.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Individual must demonstrate an executive presence and the ability to structure logical, concise arguments in verbal and written presentations.
- Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Any of the following would be considered a PLUS:
- Experience with statistical modeling, Black Scholes Option analysis, spread- option modeling or advanced quantitative models/programs
- Professional experience analyzing or trading swaps, options, structured financial products
- Analytical or trading experience in liquid commodity markets
Compensation:
Base: $125,000 - $145,000
