Specialty Program Head
Our client, a highly respected insurance organization with significant underwriting, distribution, and operational resources, is seeking an entrepreneurial insurance professional to lead the growth of a specialty program or niche underwriting practice.
This opportunity is designed for an individual who is recognized as a market expert within a specific industry, product, or specialty segment and is interested in building and scaling a business with the support of an established platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and growth of a specialized underwriting or program business.
- Leverage existing broker, agency, wholesale, and distribution relationships to generate new revenue opportunities.
- Create and execute strategic growth plans for a targeted niche, industry, or product segment.
- Drive business development efforts while maintaining strong market visibility within your area of expertise.
- Collaborate with internal leadership, underwriting, operations, and distribution teams to scale the business effectively.
- Evaluate market opportunities, identify underserved segments, and develop profitable solutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and industry leader within your specialty area.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise within a defined niche, program, product, or industry segment.
- Strong underwriting and coverage knowledge.
- Proven ability to generate and grow revenue, not simply manage underwriting portfolios.
- Established network of retail and/or wholesale broker relationships.
- Experience developing business strategies, distribution plans, and growth initiatives.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a practice.
- Background as a Program Manager, Production Underwriter, Practice Leader, Program Underwriter, Managing Underwriter, or similar leadership role preferred.
Compensation
Compensation will be highly competitive and structured around the individual's experience, business plan, market relationships, and revenue-generation capabilities.
