Job Type: Hybrid, 1 WFH

Salary: $80-120k/year plus bonus

Client/Job Summary:

Our client is a commercial bank looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to support the tax function of the business. You'd work directly with the Controller, and help prepare income tax provisions, tax compliance, and financial reporting. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience, including working with ASC 740.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the company's corporate income tax accounting and reporting, with a significant focus onASC 740 and tax provisions.
  • Prepare and review tax-related work as part of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
  • Coordinate with external tax providers on federal, state, and other compliance matters.
  • Assist with tax-related financial statement disclosures and audit requests.
  • Provide support on tax planning, research, and special transactions as they arise.
  • Gain exposure to more complex tax matters, including areas related to stock-based compensation and the financial services industry.
  • Help improve existing tax processes, workpapers, reporting, and automation.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of corporate tax experience, with hands-on ASC 740 exposure.
  • Experience preparing or supporting income tax provisions and financial statement audits.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA or CPA eligibility is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate tax accounting.
  • Someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning their work independently.
  • Ability to communicate well across teams and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice to Have:

  • Combination of public accounting and in-house corporate tax experience.
  • Financial services, banking, or other regulated-industry exposure.
  • Experience with more technical ASC 740 matters, tax planning, or stock-based compensation.
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, and improving tax reporting workflows.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is a plus.
