Senior Manager - IT Audit (mwd)

Role Overview:
As a Senior Manager in Internal Audit, you will play a key role in assessing and enhancing the control environment for technology-related risks across the organization's German banking operations. Reporting to an Audit Lead, you will contribute to the planning, execution, and reporting of audits, ensuring alignment with internal audit methodology and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit Strategy & Planning

  • Support the development and maintenance of the audit universe and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the annual audit planning process.

Audit Execution

  • Assist in planning audits, preparing documentation, and organizing planning meetings.
  • Execute audit fieldwork under the guidance of the Audit Lead, ensuring high-quality documentation and adherence to standards.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues and risks in a timely manner.

Reporting & Issue Management

  • Draft audit findings and reports with clear articulation of risk and impact.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective remediation plans.
  • Monitor and validate the resolution of audit issues, escalating delays as needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in internal audit process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance audit methodology and tools.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, including senior management.

About You:

  • Proven experience in IT audit, internal audit, or IT risk/security.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP).
  • Familiarity with German regulatory frameworks (e.g., MaRisk, BAIT, DORA).
  • Experience auditing IT infrastructure, applications, cloud services, and development projects.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and German (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Experience with data analytics tools is a plus.
