About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Investment Analyst to join our team, focusing on asset allocation and stock recommendation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a passion for idea generation, and a deep understanding of China's economic and market landscape. This role offers exposure to multi-asset strategies and cross-sector analysis, contributing directly to portfolio construction and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Macro Research & Asset Allocation

    • Conduct in-depth macroeconomic analysis, including GDP trends, monetary policy, interest rates, and global market dynamics.
    • Develop asset allocation frameworks across equities, fixed income, commodities, and alternative investments.
    • Monitor geopolitical and regulatory developments impacting China and global markets.
  • Fundamental Equity Analysis

    • Perform bottom-up research on Chinese companies across sectors, including financial modeling, valuation (DCF, comps), and industry benchmarking.
    • Generate actionable investment ideas aligned with macro themes and portfolio objectives.
    • Prepare detailed investment memos and present recommendations to the investment committee.
  • Idea Generation & Strategy Development

    • Identify emerging trends and thematic opportunities in China's economy and capital markets.
    • Collaborate with senior portfolio managers to translate research insights into investment strategies.
  • Reporting & Communication

    • Produce high-quality research reports, market outlooks, and performance attribution analysis.
    • Engage with internal stakeholders and, where applicable, external clients to communicate investment views.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA or progress toward CFA preferred.
  • 8-15 years of experience in macro research, asset allocation, or equity research (buy-side or sell-side).
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with China's economic policies, capital markets, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Mandarin.
