Company Overview:
Our client is a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund with a strong presence across systematic and high-frequency trading. The firm is highly technology-driven, with engineering at the core of its investment process, building sophisticated low-latency platforms to compete in the most time-sensitive markets globally.
Operating in a collaborative, high-performance environment, technology teams work closely with traders and quantitative researchers to design, build, and optimise mission-critical trading infrastructure.
Role Overview:
This is a Senior C++ engineering position focused on developing and scaling low-latency trading and market data systems. You will work on core infrastructure supporting execution, real-time data processing, and research platforms, while partnering directly with quantitative teams and influencing system architecture across the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build low-latency trading systems across order entry, execution, and market data pipelines
Develop core infrastructure including exchange simulators, research tooling, and strategy containers
Enhance platform capabilities to support systematic trading and quantitative research workflows
Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and architects to deliver high-impact solutions
Optimise system performance across latency, throughput, and reliability
Provide technical leadership on system design, architecture, and engineering standards
Support production environments, including real-time troubleshooting of latency-critical systems
Partner with global teams on cross-platform and cross-strategy initiatives
Key Requirements:
5+ years of experience building low-latency, production-grade systems within a trading or similarly performance-critical environment
Strong proficiency in C++ (modern standards) and solid experience with Python
Deep understanding of Linux internals, networking, and systems programming
Strong knowledge of CPU architecture (caching, NUMA, branch prediction) and performance optimisation
Experience with low-latency networking (TCP/UDP, multicast; kernel bypass technologies are advantageous)
Familiarity with trading systems, systematic strategies, or the quantitative research lifecycle
Experience with distributed systems or high-performance compute environments
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in live production environments
Proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence technical direction
