Senior Analyst / Assistant Fund Manager - Multi-Asset Investing

Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading Asian asset manager in seeking for a Senior Analyst / Assistant Fund Manager to join its Hong Kong-based Multi-Asset Investment team.

This is an opportunity to work directly alongside the firm's Chief Investment Officer for Multi-Assets, contributing to investment research, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and idea generation across a broad range of asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Commodities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct top-down macroeconomic research with a particular focus on Asia and global market developments
  • Identify emerging investment themes and opportunities across various market cycles and investment horizons
  • Generate investment ideas across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Commodities
  • Support strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions across multi-asset portfolios
  • Contribute to portfolio construction, risk management, and investment oversight activities
  • Assist in the enhancement and development of asset allocation and portfolio optimisation frameworks
  • Collaborate closely with investment professionals across equity and fixed income teams to develop differentiated investment insights
  • Participate in internal investment discussions and contribute to the broader research effort of the organization
  • Support client-facing and marketing-related activities when required

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant investment experience, with prior buy-side experience within an asset management firm preferred
  • Candidates should ideally bring a combination of buy-side and sell-side macro research experience
  • Background in Multi-Asset Investing, Asset Allocation, Investment Strategy, Macroeconomic Research, or related disciplines
  • Strong understanding of global financial markets, particularly across Asia
  • Experience evaluating investment opportunities from both top-down and bottom-up perspectives
  • Exposure to portfolio construction and asset allocation frameworks is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Excel, and quantitative tools such as Python or R would be beneficial
