Senior Accountant
What You'll Be Doing as a Senior Staff Accountant:
· Bill customers for product/service shipped on a timely basis and ensure customers are billed for correct and approved amounts.
· Apply customer payments and other amounts received on a timely basis.
· Keep adequate records and report on annual customer incentive programs
· Administer the Company's Credit Insurance Program for this location.
· Monitor day's sales outstanding and strive to keep all customer account balance current.
· Obtain and enter relevant information for new customer set-up including tax exemption records when required.
· Perform weekly AP check runs and upload data into banking system to allow clearance of checks.
· Back up to accounts payable processing and receptionist's duties, when needed.
· Prepare month end bank reconciliation, as well as other account reconciliations.
· Responsible for month-end financial statement preparation, reconciliations and analysis.
· Prepare schedules, reports and work on projects as determined by the Regional Controller and Site Leader.
· Responsible for annual financial audit by outside accountants.
· Effectively learn and become expert the company's accounts receivable, accounts payable and job management modules of the ERP system.
· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations and reporting
· Maintaining regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability are conditions of employment and essential function of this position.
· Strong initiative to meet deadlines consistently in an accounting function responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting to corporate, shareholders, and executive management.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks well, especially during monthly close cycle, and change priorities as needed.
What We're Looking for as a Senior Staff Accountant:
· 5+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing experience is a must have)
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
· Knowledge of GAAP and understanding of general business principles with ability to apply concepts to account reconciliations and journal entries.
· Ability to work in a group atmosphere and possess problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
· Knowledge of GAAP and experience with account reconciliations
· High attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
· Ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities
