About the Opportunity
A leading investment management firm is seeking a Quantitative Developer to help build and scale the technology platform that supports research, trading, risk, and data across the organization.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist who enjoys operating at the intersection of software engineering, quantitative finance, data infrastructure, and trading technology. You will work closely with investment professionals, researchers, and technology leadership to design, develop, and enhance systems that support the firm's investment process.
This is a highly visible position offering significant ownership and the opportunity to influence platform architecture and technology direction.
Responsibilities
Platform Development & Integration
- Design, build, and enhance core investment technology platforms
- Develop APIs, services, and internal tools supporting research, trading, and operational workflows
- Integrate disparate systems and datasets into a scalable, unified platform
- Contribute to technology architecture and platform design decisions
- Support the full software development lifecycle from design through production deployment
Quantitative Research & Trading Support
- Partner with quantitative researchers and investment teams to deploy models and analytics into production environments
- Build tools and workflows that enable efficient research, testing, and deployment of investment strategies
- Support systems across multiple asset classes including equities, futures, options, fixed income, and derivatives
Data Engineering
- Build and maintain market data, reference data, and internal data pipelines
- Integrate third-party and proprietary data sources into the firm's technology ecosystem
- Ensure data quality, consistency, monitoring, and observability across platforms
- Support data architecture and storage initiatives
DevOps & Infrastructure
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
- Support containerized applications and cloud-native environments
- Improve monitoring, logging, automation, and platform reliability
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience within financial services, investment management, hedge funds, trading firms, or fintech environments
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience with at least one additional object-oriented language such as C#, C++, or Java
- Experience building scalable APIs, distributed systems, and production-grade software
- Strong SQL and data engineering capabilities
- Familiarity with market data, trading systems, risk systems, or quantitative research platforms
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, version control, CI/CD, and code reviews
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept through delivery
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Experience
- Buy-side, hedge fund, or asset management experience
- Experience supporting quantitative research or systematic trading environments
- Knowledge of options, futures, fixed income, derivatives, or risk systems
- Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or other cloud technologies
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with modern data platforms and data pipeline design
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows
