Private Equity Associate
We are currently representing a leading Private Equity firm based in the heart of Washington, DC that is looking to add a Private Equity Associate to their deal team in 2026. The firm specializes across a variety of industries within the lower middle market and will be deploying capital out of their 4th fund that they recently closed.
Additionally, within this role, the Private Equity Associate will have the unique opportunity to grow long-term alongside some of the most impressive leaders in Private Equity.
Private Equity Associate Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity, with a focus on M&A transactions (industrials, business services, energy experienced preferred)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work products.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Private Equity Associate Responsibilities:
- Deal Sourcing and Execution: Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities in the energy & infrastructure sector, including conducting due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation analysis.
- Transaction Management: Assist in managing all aspects of M&A transactions, from initial contact through closing, including coordinating with legal, financial, and operational teams.
- Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential investment targets within the energy industry.
- Portfolio Management: Support the management of portfolio companies, including performance monitoring, strategic planning, and value creation initiatives.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare detailed financial analyses, including LBO models, DCF analyses, and other valuation techniques to support investment decisions.
- Presentation Preparation: Develop and present investment memos, pitch books, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, advisors, and potential investment targets.
