A leading global multi-strategy hedge fund is looking to hire a Payments / FinTech Equity Research Analyst to join an established Portfolio Manager's team in San Francisco.
Operating within a pod-style structure, the analyst will work directly alongside a highly regarded PM with a long track record of investing at several brand-name, flagship multi-strategy hedge funds. The hire will play an integral role in the team's fundamental equity research process, with responsibility for developing investment ideas across the Payments and/or broader FinTech universe.
The Opportunity
- Join an established PM team at a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund
- Work directly with a top-pedigree Portfolio Manager with extensive experience across flagship hedge fund platforms
- Take ownership of fundamental research across Payments and/or FinTech
- Conduct deep-dive company and industry research to identify actionable investment opportunities
- Develop differentiated views, financial models and investment theses across the coverage universe
- Work in a fast-paced, performance-driven investment environment with significant exposure to the PM and investment process

Candidate Profile
The team is targeting candidates with approximately 2-5 years of relevant professional experience within Payments, FinTech or a closely related area.
They are flexible on background and would consider candidates currently working in:
- Buy-side equity research / investing
- Sell-side equity research
- Investment banking, with relevant Payments / FinTech transaction or sector experience
Candidates should bring strong fundamental research and financial analysis skills, a genuine interest in public markets, and the ability to develop a differentiated view on companies and industry trends.
Compensation
The successful candidate will receive a competitive base salary plus an uncapped performance bonus linked directly to pod performance, creating considerable upside for strong investment contribution.
