Role Overview:
The Investment Director will play a central role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing venture deals, while also shaping the firm's investment strategy. This position combines hands-on deal leadership with team mentorship and strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities
Origination & Screening: Spot and assess high-potential startups in maritime digitalisation, energy transition, and adjacent B2B technology sectors. Develop investment theses around software, hardware, and emerging technologies.
Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive diligence across financial, operational, and strategic dimensions. Prepare clear, data-driven investment materials for decision-making.
Transaction Execution: Partner with senior leadership to structure deals, negotiate terms, and close investments. Maintain awareness of regulatory and legal frameworks in cross-border venture transactions.
Team Development: Guide Associates through the full investment cycle, fostering analytical rigor and professional growth.
Strategic Contribution: Provide perspectives on portfolio company operations and go-to-market strategies. Help refine thematic focus in maritime, energy, and supply chain innovation.
Leadership Pathway: Position offers progression toward Head of Investments or equivalent leadership roles, with influence over portfolio direction and fund strategy.
Candidate Profile:
Experience: Minimum 5- 8 years in venture capital, private equity, or a comparable investing role. Proven track record leading deals in B2B or industrial technology; broader tech backgrounds also considered.
Skills: Strong financial modelling, negotiation, and legal acumen. Ability to evaluate complex technical solutions. Excellent communication and memo-writing ability.
Leadership: Experience managing junior team members. Collaborative mindset suited to fast-paced, team-driven environments.
Domain Interest: Knowledge of maritime or energy transition is advantageous but not required; openness to learning new verticals is essential
