Investment Banking Vice President | Life Sciences

Selby Jennings is partnered with an Elite Boutique Investment Banking platform is seeking an Investment Banking Associate or Vice President to join its Life Sciences team in San Francisco. The team advises public and private companies across the Life Sciences sector on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and other strategic and financial matters. This individual will work closely with senior bankers and company executives throughout the transaction lifecycle. The position offers significant exposure to complex advisory assignments, direct interaction with clients, and the opportunity to assume meaningful responsibility within a growing sector-focused team.

Ideal candidates are current Investment Banking Associates or Investment Banking Vice Presidents with current or prior experience in Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute M&A, financing, and strategic advisory transactions across the Life Sciences sector
• Develop financial models, valuation analyses, transaction materials, and client presentations
• Conduct detailed company, industry, and market research
• Coordinate due diligence and manage transaction workstreams
• Participate in client meetings, management presentations, and internal discussions
• Support the preparation of pitches and new business development materials
• Collaborate with senior bankers on transaction strategy and client recommendations
• Review and provide guidance on the work of junior team members
• At the Vice President level, manage day-to-day execution, maintain senior client relationships, and take a more active role in business development

Qualifications

• Prior investment banking experience, preferably within Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related sector
• Strong transaction execution experience across M&A, equity financing, debt financing, or other strategic advisory assignments
• Excellent financial modeling, valuation, presentation, and analytical skills
• Demonstrated understanding of the Life Sciences ecosystem, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences tools, diagnostics, or related subsectors
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree is beneficial but not required
• FINRA licenses preferred, or the ability to obtain required licenses following employment
