Overview
A leading middle‑market investment bank is seeking an experienced Managing Director to drive origination, execution, and client advisory across Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets, or Special Situations/Restructuring. This senior leader will bring a strong track record of closed transactions, deep market relationships, and the ability to mentor and grow high‑performing teams within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end deal origination, developing new client relationships and building a sustainable pipeline across targeted industries and regions.
- Oversee the full transaction execution process, including strategic positioning, valuation analyses, financial modeling oversight, creation of marketing materials, due diligence coordination, and negotiation of key terms.
- Serve as a trusted client advisor to business owners, boards, executives, and private equity sponsors, providing insight on liquidity options, capital structure, market conditions, and strategic alternatives.
- Manage engagements across sell‑side and buy‑side M&A, debt and equity capital raising, and/or special situations such as distressed M&A, recapitalizations, and restructuring scenarios.
- Represent the firm through industry networking, conferences, and business development initiatives to elevate brand visibility and expand market presence.
- Collaborate closely with internal leadership to support firmwide growth strategies while maintaining the highest standards of execution quality and client service.
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior bankers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- 10-20+ years of investment banking experience with expertise in M&A, Capital Markets, or Special Situations/Restructuring.
- Proven track record of deal origination and successful transaction closures in the middle‑market.
- Strong industry relationships and the credibility to win advisory mandates.
- Deep technical proficiency including financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation capabilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a practice.
