A leading independent advisory firm is seeking a highly experienced Vice President to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The team advises on high‑profile mergers & acquisitions, strategic reviews, capital raises, and complex financial transactions for financial services clients across the UK and Europe. The firm operates with a flat structure, strong deal flow, and direct senior‑level client exposure.
The Vice President will take a central role in managing live transactions, overseeing junior team members, and working closely with Directors and Partners to deliver strategic advisory mandates. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day execution of M&A and strategic advisory mandates within the financial services sector.
- Oversee financial analysis, valuation workstreams, and transaction materials with a high degree of autonomy.
- Own client deliverables, ensuring rigorous analysis and clear, insightful recommendations.
- Coordinate due diligence, process management, and communication across internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop Analysts and Associates, providing guidance on modelling, analysis, and presentation standards.
- Support senior leadership in business development, pitch preparation, and strategic idea generation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-7+ years of investment banking experience, including meaningful exposure to FIG clients (insurance, banking, specialty finance, fintech, or asset/wealth management).
- Strong execution experience on M&A and/or capital advisory transactions.
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities; ability to independently review and challenge analytical work.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder‑coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams successfully in a fast‑paced environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and a deep interest in financial services market dynamics.
