Overview
A leading global investment banking platform is seeking to hire an Investment Banking Associate to join its Energy team in London. The role will sit within a fast-growing energy and infrastructure franchise, with a strong emphasis on renewables and energy transition, alongside the opportunity to help build out adjacent sectors including oil and gas and regulated utilities.
This is a highly execution-focused position offering broad exposure across advisory and financing-led transactions, working closely with senior bankers, product partners and clients across the UK and Europe.
Sector focus
Core coverage:
- Renewables and energy transition, with a particular focus on:
- Onshore wind
- Offshore wind
- Battery energy storage (BESS)
- Broader renewables platforms and portfolios
Responsibilities
- Playing a central role in the execution of M&A, strategic advisory and financing transactions
- Owning financial modelling and valuation analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comps and scenario analysis
- Preparing and reviewing marketing and execution materials such as pitch books, teasers, information memoranda and management presentations
- Coordinating workstreams across internal product teams and external advisers, including legal, technical and commercial
- Supporting origination efforts through sector analysis, company screening and idea generation
- Managing and mentoring Analysts, ensuring high-quality output and efficient execution
- Maintaining up-to-date market knowledge across renewables, infrastructure, utilities and oil and gas
Candidate profile
Experience:
- Analyst or Associate-level investment banking experience with a focus on energy or energy and infrastructure
- Strong transaction exposure within renewables and energy transition preferred
- Candidates from established energy investment banking platforms are of particular interest.
Technical and personal skills:
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capability
- High level of attention to detail and execution discipline
- Ability to manage multiple processes in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
- Team-oriented approach, with an interest in contributing to a growing franchise
