Industrials Equity Analyst - Multi-Strat Hedge Fund
Selby Jennings has partnered with a multi-billion USD Asia-focused alternative investment management firm in seeking an Industrials Analyst to join their team in Hong Kong. This hire will work closely with the portfolio manager in covering the Asia region across various Industrials sub-sectors, and will be responsible for generating actionable investment ideas for the portfolio.
Role Details:
- Working closely with the portfolio manager, and responsible for generating differentiated L/S investment ideas through bottom-up analysis and thematic research.
- Coverage focus will be on Industrials names across sub-sectors including Factory Automation, Autos, Robotics, Machinery, Equipment, etc.
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research on companies, including financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis.
- Monitor macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes to identify investment opportunities and risks.
- Perform channel checks, management calls, and expert interviews to validate investment theses.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience and exposure in covering the Industrials sector.
- Greater China (A-/H-shares) coverage experience is a must, with additional geographies (e.g. Japan) considered a plus.
- Preference for individuals bringing experience from the buyside (LO or L/S strategies).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, while effectively collaborating with team members and leveraging collective expertise when needed
- Mandarin fluency is required, with English fluency considered an advantage.
- Willingness to be based in Hong Kong.
