A vertically integrated real estate investment management firm is seeking to add a Head of Capital Formation to its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong network across Family Offices, RIAs, Broker-Dealers, Qualified Purchasers (QPs), and other private wealth channels, along with a proven track record of raising capital for alternative investment vehicles and commercial real estate strategies. This individual will be responsible for leading the firm's capital formation efforts across investor relations, fundraising, and marketing initiatives while helping build a scalable, data-driven capital raising platform.
The Head of Capital Formation will be responsible for:
- Spearheading fundraising initiatives across all investment offerings and capital raising channels.
- Leveraging existing relationships and networks to identify, engage, and convert prospective investors and strategic partners.
- Serving as a key point of contact for investors while overseeing the overall investor experience, communications, and relationship management process.
- Developing deep expertise in the firm's investment strategies and effectively communicating value propositions to both investors and internal stakeholders.
- Leading capital raising efforts with Family Offices, RIAs, Broker-Dealers, QPs, and institutional investors.
- Building and managing a capital formation team, including establishing pipeline targets, sales processes, and channel strategies.
- Creating and implementing comprehensive fundraising campaigns, marketing initiatives, and investor communication strategies.
- Working closely with investment, finance, legal, and development teams to align capital raising efforts with broader business objectives.
- Identifying new market opportunities, product offerings, and distribution channels to drive future growth.
- Monitoring market trends, investor demand, and competitive dynamics to inform fundraising strategy and product positioning.
- Developing and enhancing CRM, reporting, and marketing automation capabilities to support capital formation activities.
- Utilizing technology and data-driven approaches to improve outreach, investor engagement, and fundraising effectiveness.
The Head of Capital Formation should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in capital raising, investor relations, investment banking, private equity, or related fields.
- Proven track record of raising capital from Family Offices, RIAs, Qualified Purchasers, Institutional Investors, and other private wealth channels.
- Strong understanding of alternative investments, capital markets, and commercial real estate investment structures.
- Demonstrated ability to source, negotiate, and close capital commitments.
- Experience developing and executing fundraising strategies and building scalable capital formation platforms.
- Exceptional relationship management, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership experience, including the ability to build and manage teams.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and data-driven business development strategies.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations related to fundraising activities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of initiative, integrity, and entrepreneurial drive.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to meet with investors and prospects.
