Job Title: ERCOT Power Trader

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially driven ERCOT Trader to join our dynamic trading desk at a leading asset management firm in New York City. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in ERCOT energy markets, particularly power trading, and a proven track record of generating alpha through strategic trading and portfolio optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage power trades within ERCOT and potentially other U.S. markets.
- Develop and implement trading strategies to optimize portfolio performance and manage risk specific to ERCOT's unique market structure.
- Monitor ERCOT market fundamentals, including supply-demand dynamics, congestion patterns, transmission constraints, and regulatory developments.
- Collaborate with analysts and portfolio managers to align trading decisions with broader investment objectives.
- Utilize quantitative tools and models to identify trading opportunities and assess ERCOT market conditions.
- Maintain compliance with internal risk limits and ERCOT-specific regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development of proprietary trading systems and analytics platforms tailored for ERCOT.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) preferred.
- 5-12 years of experience in power trading, with significant exposure to ERCOT markets.
- Strong understanding of ERCOT's market design, nodal pricing, and regulatory environment.
- Proficiency in trading platforms and analytical tools; experience with Python, R, or SQL is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in managing risk and delivering consistent trading performance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
