Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for financial market data ingestion, transformation, and distribution
- Build and optimise data workflows using cloud-based technologies, Snowflake, and orchestration tools such as Airflow
- Own the reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of data infrastructure
- Develop automated monitoring, validation, and data quality frameworks
- Integrate and standardise datasets from multiple global data providers
- Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and other technology teams to deliver trusted data products
- Drive best practices around data architecture, governance, and engineering standards
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding platform design, tooling, and long-term technology direction
Key Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and operating production-grade data platforms and pipelines
- Strong experience working with financial market data within asset management, hedge funds, investment firms, or capital markets environments
- Exposure to asset classes such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, or alternative investments
- Deep expertise with cloud data technologies including Snowflake and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Advanced SQL skills and strong understanding of relational data modelling
- Proven experience designing data systems used by downstream engineering, analytics, research, or investment teams
- Strong understanding of data architecture, performance optimisation, and operational reliability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating data from major financial data vendors
- Knowledge of corporate actions processing and point-in-time data management
- Experience with cross-vendor data reconciliation and validation frameworks
- Exposure to global market data across multiple regions and time zones
- Professional working proficiency in English
Location & Work Setup
- Seoul, South Korea as a first priority. Hong Kong as an additional option.
- Primarily office-based environment with close collaboration across investment and engineering teams
