Overview
A growing, privately held employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm is seeking a Benefits Technology Analyst to support and optimize benefits administration platforms for a diverse client base. This role will act as a technical subject matter expert, partnering with internal teams, clients, and vendors to deliver seamless implementations, renewals, and ongoing system support. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, user-friendly communication.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Management & Configuration
- Serve as a subject matter expert across HRIS/HCM and benefits administration platforms
- Configure and build enrollment systems tailored to client specifications
- Lead technical setup for open enrollments and renewals (eligibility, plan design, rates, workflows)
- Analyze benefit plans to map structures, payroll deductions, and carrier requirements
Project Management & Client Support
- Manage full lifecycle implementations, onboarding, and renewal projects
- Partner with account teams to align technology solutions with client strategies
- Train clients and internal stakeholders on system functionality and best practices
- Provide troubleshooting support and resolve escalated system issues
Data & Integration Management
- Manage and troubleshoot EDI feeds (including 834 files) and SFTP transmissions
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and file errors
- Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy and system integrity
- Maintain compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125, PPACA, and related regulations
- Document processes and maintain standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (HR, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred)
- 3-5+ years of experience in benefits technology, HRIS, or benefits consulting
- Experience with benefits administration platforms (e.g., Employee Navigator, bswift, ADP, Paylocity, PlanSource, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and advanced formulas
- Knowledge of EDI feeds, 834 file structures, and data integrations
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
